Jussie Smollett, Act 3 - The Indictment

      by GayLord Jacobs

As it relates to the Jussie Smollett drama in having lied about being the victim of a Hate Crime, Chicago’s Cook County’s grand jury has indicted him on sixteen (16) counts of Felony Disorderly Conduct for every lie that he spewed during two separate police interviews.

First off, I am quite satisfied with Smollet being charged for having filed a false police report. Especially, since he had the gall to declare himself the victim of something so egregious and heinous. But, what’s not copacetic is the fact that he is being indicted for every lie that he told. Really?

Further, for some reason, Cook County’s police department felt the need to point out that, during Smollet’s second interview, he alleged that one of the suspects was White. Seriously, doesn’t everyone lie to the police? And, don’t they generally accuse the Black guy?

“No Officer, I was neither speeding, nor did I run that red light and crash into those 5 automobiles. It was a Black guy that did it!” “No Officer, I did not just rob the Liquor store of 32 cartons of Marlboro Reds and a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon. It was that Black guy that just ran down the street” No Officer, I did not knock down my son-of-a-bitch neighbors’ fence simply because 1/8 inch of it is on MY Property! A Black guy driving a tow truck did it! Yes Officer, as a matter of fact I do own a Jack Hammer. Why?” “Officer, I was on my way to pay my bills, stopped at the mall Casino to get a diet Coke, walked right back out to my car , and was robbed by a Black guy!. No Officer, I did not gamble it away! I’m a white woman lodging a complaint. You are required to take a report. Thank you for taking my report Officer”

The bottom-line…don’t people ALWAYS lie to the police? And, in the majority of these cases, they often point the finger at their opposite race. I don’t purport to know why they do this. Nor do I think that it is as simple as them being racist. In my opinion, I think that their responses are predicated in their belief as to what is most believable in that given moment. And yes, in today’s society, in any given moment, the belief is ALWAYS that the Black guy did it!

So, on this rare fucking occasion, someone lied on the White guy. And, apparently, although there is no legal status (and if there is, it’s unenforced!) for lying on the Black guy, lying on the White guy is a crime. Whatever the case, as a 96% of the time truth telling, law abiding citizen, I’m not condoning this behavior, I am simply stating that it is a REALITY! That said, a Liar, is a Liar, is a Liar! Therefore, laws should be consistent. If you’re going to punish one Liar for lying, then it’s only Just that you punish ALL Liars for lying! Don’t fucking pick and choose!

Sure, people should be held accountable for the lies that they tell. And Smollet most certainly should be held accountable for fabricating such a grand fucking storyline. However, if he is already going to be held accountable for his overall actions, aren’t the lies within the conspiracy a part of the grand scheme of things?

Now, a week prior to this whole Tales of Two Stories by Jussie Smollett, while working on the “EMPIRE “set, he alleged to have been the victimized recipient of a threatening letter containing an unidentified white powdery substance. That letter is currently in the custody of the FBI. Well, all I can say to that is, hopefully he didn’t orchestrate that bullshit. If in fact he did, welcome to the Big League stupid! To be continued….

Relevant to what Smollett is currently accused of, if convicted, undoubtedly, he needs to be issued a Court appointed “ass whipping” for his offensive shenanigans. However, I don’t think that the Court should move to “kill him dead” just yet.

He’s in his fucking 20’s. Everyone in their 20’s makes bad choices and does dumb shit! Granted, there are varying degrees of dumb shit, and Smollett, who is obviously an attention whore, has landed on top tier. However, he still has a lot of growing up to do.

Hopefully, this experience, (since experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted) lending itself to his makeup as an individual, will catapult him into maturity and thus start him on a road to rehabilitation and redemption! We shall see…

      But today…He’s got issues!
